Harvard President Drew Faust toured clinics and laboratories of the Botswana-Harvard Partnership for HIV Research and Education (BHP) in November. Established in 1996, the BHP is a collaborative research and training initiative between the government of Botswana and the Harvard School of Public Health AIDS Initiative (HAI).

Harvard researchers met recently with scholars and government officials from China for two days in Cambridge to discuss social development efforts such as controlling public health risks in China as part of an ongoing exchange that began two years ago in Beijing.

The China Social Development Forum, held Oct. 25-26 at Harvard’s Fairbank Center for China Studies, was organized by HSPH’s China Initiative and co-hosted by the China Central Party School.

phat  tArchitect of Google Health Discussed Plausibility of Electronic Medical Health Records at HSPH Student-Organized Lecture

The software pioneer who was instrumental in building Google Health told a student-run public health and technology conference that simply putting medical records online would not be enough to improve care and reduce costs.

Adam Bosworth gave a keynote address Nov. 16 at the daylong Public Health & Technology Conference, organized by the student-led HSPH Public Health & Technology Forum (PHAT) at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at HMS.
